Fellowship Groups

Whether a Bible study, fellowship group, or a combination of the two, "living life together" is of vital importance at First UMC Newport. Our church offers a variety of ways for you to get connected into the life of our church! Once connected within our walls, you can then take that out of  our walls and invite others to experience Christian community!

Pastor David's W.N.F. study (Fall 2025)
"Introducing the Bible: The Drama of Scripture"
The purpose of this course is to introduce us to the Bible. We'll learn how we got the Bible, how we can better interpret it, and what we believe about the Bible's role in shaping our Christian community and ourselves. We'll consider how we can find meaning in Scripture and use it as the foundation for our Christian discipleship. We will study the over-arching Christian story told by the Bible so we can gain a better understanding of how all the books in the Bible fit together. We'll also examine John Wesley's biblical heritage and beliefs.
